Digital Portfolio Reflection
Throughout the course of this past semester, I have cultivated the skill of learning swirl and solve. This skill truly saved my life during the Exponents and Logarithms Exam, which I actually got an 88% on, the highest grade I ever received on a test. I used this skill on problems 1, 2, 5, 6, 8 and 9. Because of the skills overall simplicity, I did not find myself struggling to grasp its concept. It also helped my understanding of logarithms and exponents grow because it was one step, one building block to a much larger concept.
A problem solving skill that has grown inside of me throughout the first semester of Algebra ll was the ability to communicate and think in a clear way. I found myself faced with many challenges while solving problems and the only way I could understand them was by communicating effectively with my peers and teacher. This included thoughtful questions and a dedication to the work I was creating. I normally find myself to be an outspoken member of the class but throughout the semester I raised my voice to ask questions. Also, by meeting with peers I resubmitted work once I had a better understanding of it. This skill is important because it enables me to use my voice and speak up instead of locking my thoughts.
